NEW BRUTARIANS - Hysteria LP
70´s popart proto punk debut album by the a sunshine state duo! NEW BRUTARIANS are scene veteran Adam Turkel on guitar & vocals and Christina Wright on batteries & vocals, and at ALIEN SNATCH!, we´re a sucker for boy/girl rock'n'roll outfits!
"Hysteria" is indeed an album full for rockers and rollers, some songs are lofi-acoustic gems, some are 77´ glam punk and some are glitter rock. It´s a best-of of their pandemic recordings on several occassions, with GINO BAMBINO (of the GOONS) and BILLY SUMMER and Sun Wray Studios and it´s a splatter fest of TELEVISION & THUNDERS & TRASH BRATS & TESTORS. New recordings of their single hit "(Rock Me) I´m A Dadaist" on the album too! Vinyl Mastering by Nene Baratto and A-HULE-HULE. All Artwork by master mind Adam Pop Artist! "Hysteria" is strictly limited to 500 copies with a full color insert.

Awesome album. The perfect "palate cleanser" as I call it. The hard, grungy, punk rock blasts away all the bull shit in the air like a cleansing flamethrower to clear the field while leaving a lasting impression of the satisfying fumes of burning propane to enjoy with a Montucky Cold Snack while you watch the devastation. 9.1/10 xxdoubledaisyxx

I know it's an obscure reference, but the singer reminds me of Anneke van Giersbergen from the Gathering. The singer of Romero is a highlight of the band's sound, and the power-pop tunes are driven by her. Looking forward to future releases of this band. Bart

Killer garage-rock with a salting of punk. All songs are good, but the album keeps getting better as it warms up. Found it on the Drunken Sailor Record label, which is turning out to be a great resource for the dirtier side of all things great in punk and rock. Lute FP
Don't be fooled by the thick layer of snot over these songs - this Nova Scotian band has a melodic heart and a whip-smart head. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 3, 2018
